Correspondence of W.E.B. Du Bois
The University of Massachusetts Press is proud to have published the three-volume Correspondence of W.E.B. Du Bois, as well as three related volumes of work by Dr. Du Bois. Reviewing the third volume of correspondence in the New York Times Book Review in 1978, Eric Foner wrote, “It is a remarkable fact that this volume brings to completion the first collection of the correspondence of any black American. As such, it is a milestone in the coming of age of Afro-American history, a subject whose scholarly acceptance is among W.E.B. Du Bois’s most outstanding legacies.”
These volumes were edited by the late Hebert Aptheker.
